R03 - Le Mans - FIA WEC Race Preview

Prema ORLEN Team set for emotional Le Mans 24 Hours debut

R03 - Le Mans - FIA WEC Race Preview

It’s finally go-time for Prema ORLEN Team in Le Mans, and the Italian squad, set for an exciting new experience, is ready to line up for the start of the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans activities on Wednesday. It will be the opening act of a highly anticipated and challenging week of work.

After collective testing on Sunday, the team worked hard in its preparations but also enjoyed the many opportunities to meet with the fans, which will culminate with the running of the legendary driver parade in the city centre of Le Mans on Friday featuring drivers Robert Kubica, Louis Delétraz and Lorenzo Colombo.

The race itself will present huge challenges. The track’s extreme nature, featuring high speeds and a unique 13.6-km layout, will pair with the endurance aspect, running reliably for 24 hours in whatever weather and external conditions. Last but not least, the pack will be featuring some of the world’s most outstanding competitors in the sport.

While Prema ORLEN Team feels humbled and privileged to be part of such a historic event for the first time, the competitive spirit will soon kick in at Circuit de la Sarthe, and maximising the package for the job will be the paramount aspect.

The running will be on daytime and at night, with qualifying scheduled on Wednesday at 19:00 and the Hyperpole, featuring the best six cars of qualifying for each class, on Thursday at 17:15. The race will start on Saturday at 16:00.

Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"It feels amazing to be in such an outstanding place. We are appreciating how special this event is and the media and fan activities held so far definitely added up to the charm. We are determined to perform, but we are also throughly enjoying this occasion. We know it’s going to be a challenging event. It will be a week of work, adaptation, and constant pursuit of perfection. Still, we cannot wait to start. We hope this will be only the beginning of a long and exciting story."
