PREMA, Leclerc score front row for Silverstone Feature Race

R04 - Silverstone - FIA Formula 3 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing secured a front-row spot for the FIA Formula 3 Championship Feature Race at Silverstone today in qualifying, as Arthur Leclerc claimed second place at the end of an incredibly close qualifying session.

The Ferrari Driver Academy supported Monegasque came less than three hundreds of a second short of pole, while both his teammates achieved top-6 positions for the main race of the weekend in a session ran on dry tyres after an earlier downpour.

American Red Bull Junior Jak Crawford finished fifth, while British rookie Ollie Bearman ended up six hundredths adrift in P6.

Bearman will start tomorrow's sprint race, featuring a reversed top-12 grid, from the seventh place and will be the leading PREMA driver.

#4 - Arthur Leclerc

“We're really happy about this qualifying. It's just the result of the work we have been doing since the beginning of the year to improve, and now I'm starting from the front row so I'm really happy. There are plenty of opportunities to overtake on this track as we have seen in the past, so we're looking forward to tomorrow's race.”

#5 - Jak Crawford

"It was a pretty decent qualifying, and I'm happy with P5 and the gains we have made. The lap was not perfect, but generally, it was not easy because the weather changed after practice so we didn't know what the conditions would be in qualifying. It was also quite gusty out there which made things difficult, but we managed and eventually made it to the top-5."

#6 - Ollie Bearman

"We had a decent qualifying and I'm happy with P6. The first run was good but I didn't manage to match it in the second one. We keep making steps forward as a team so I'm quite happy and looking forward to the races which should be really interesting."
