PREMA's Formula 3 team goes back on track at Melbourne

R02 Melbourne - FIA Formula 3 Race Preview

The FIA Formula 3 Championship is back on track for the second round of 2023 with PREMA Racing lining up for a brand new adventure on the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia. The temporary venue, home of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Australia, will welcome the team and the FIA Formula 3 paddock for the first time, with everyone expecting a tough but exciting challenge.

Lining up for the first time on such a tricky circuit, featuring long and fast corners, difficult changes of direction, and not much room for mistakes, will force everyone to use a measured approach.

However, with a 30-car, incredibly close field, speed will remain a pivotal aspect especially qualifying. To add more challenges, there are threats of rain, especially on Friday, and that will throw in an additional variable to manage.

Coming from his maiden F3 podium in Bahrain, 19-year-old Dino Beganovic leads the PREMA field with P3 in the driver championship. With one points finish, 19-year-old Paul Aron is looking to capitalize on the positive showing at Al Sakhir, while 18-year-old Zak O'Sullivan, who delivered two amazing comebacks after a qualifying mishap, hopes to kickstart his season in style.

With the Team and drivers looking forward to the event, everyone on board is delighted for a unique, whole new experience.

Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"The weekend in Melbourne will be exciting and challenging, with the team running in a spectacular new environment that provides great motivation but also a bit of the necessity to adapt from the practical and technical points of view. There will be many things to learn in terms of engineering and management, but those are aspects that we have shown to master in the past. From the driving perspective, Paul, Dino and Zak all showed potential in Bahrain, even though we eventually came out with only one podium. We look to Melbourne as the perfect occasion to make a further breakthrough."
