R05 Spielberg - FIA Formula 3 Race Preview

PREMA Racing is set to get its FIA Formula 3 Championship operation back in motion as teams and drivers line up for the sixth round of the 2023 season at Spielberg. The up-and-down Austrian circuit, located between the Styrian hills, has been home to FIA F3 since its first season, and has always produced close racing, with tight lap times and good passing opportunities, especially under braking in turns 1, 3 and 4.

PREMA is coming to Spielberg with the lead in the driver championship, having achieved a win and a podium finish in the previous round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Dino Beganovic is currently headlining the team’s effort with third place in points and three podiums to his credit, and the 19-year-old Swede is looking forward to making more gains in the races to come. Paul Aron is currently sitting in P5. The 19-year-old Estonian claimed his first two wins in single-seater in F4 at Spielberg, so he will try to bring back those successful memories.

Despite having secured two wins so far this year, Zak O’Sullivan has ground to make as luck was not always on his side so far. The 18-year-old British driver wants to move forward and get back in the game for the leading positions in points.

Without high degradation expected, tyre supplier Pirelli will bring the P-Zero Red soft tyres for the event.

René Rosin - Team Principal

"The race in Spielberg is always a really important one because, with such a compact pack, it rewards every aspect and particularly highlights eventual mistakes. In addition, this year the event is again marking the midpoint of the season. Doing well in Austria will be key for the final part of the year, and we have worked hard to make another step toward the front with all three drivers."
