PREMA Racing set for round 5 at home racetrack

R05 Monza - F1 Academy Race Preview

The F1 Academy series will be back underway this weekend at Monza. The legendary Italian track is a must-have destination for any championship with its high-speed nature that makes for good learning chances. PREMA Racing will run a dual effort there as the all-women series will be supporting the FIA WEC 6-hour race.

The team has recently achieved a triple win in Italian F4 there and is aiming to make a positive transfer to its F1 Academy program, which had a challenging run last time around at Zandvoort. Currently leading the championship, Spaniard Marta Garcia has claimed three wins this year and had a podium finish at Zandvoort. The 22-year-old will race at Monza for the first time, but with her experience, the goal is to get up to speed quickly.

Bianca Bustamante will also run there for the first time. The 18-year-old from the Philippines has secured one win so far, and is standing P8 in the series with the goal to make good gains in the final stages of the championship. Continuing her rookie season in single-seaters, 15-year-old British-Canadian Chloe Chong is looking to go back into the points zone while she climb her learning curve on a set of different tracks and conditions.

Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"Monza is a unique circuit but, on the other hand, it's a real proving and training ground in terms of driving and race craft. This series is all about learning, and providing competitors with instruments that they can use for the rest of their careers. The learning aspect is equally important to us, and we hope we can get our three drivers up to speed and use their full potential to achieve solid results."
