PREMA set for valuable French outing

R05 Paul Ricard - Italian Formula 4 Race Preview

The seven-strong lineup of PREMA Formula 4 drivers is heading towards Circuit Paul Ricard in southern France, as the Italian Championship goes back underway for its fifth round of the season.

The challenging French venue, featuring technical high-speed corners and a particularly flowing layout, will offer a valuable proving ground for all competitors, and it will be paramount to gain good chemistry with it right from the start.

British racer Arvid Lindblad is heading the field as he comes from a dominant triple win at Monza followed by two hard-charging teammates. Ugo Ugochukwu and James Wharton, who put up excellent showings in the inaugural Euro4 Championship event at Mugello, are aware that they will need perfection to get back in the game. The American and the Australian won two races in the series and achieved multiple podiums so far.

Tuukka Taponen and Nicola Lacorte has been showing tremendous potential in the first events of 2023 and have the podium in their sights on a track where almost everyone will be competing for the first time. Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri will also rely on the same aspect to fight on a more levelled playing field, as he continues his first championship run in single-seaters. Having secured his maiden top-5 finish and a rookie podium at Monza, he's now looking for more.

Having showed positive vibes in the last series outing at Monza, Brazilian female racer Aurelia Nobels is eyeing a return to a front-running form in the women's trophy, and to achieve solid results in the overall to pave her way to a rewarding final part of the year.

Angelo Rosin - Team Principal

"Paul Ricard is a particularly challenging circuit, and running for the first time there in a racing environment, drivers will need to do a solid job since the start to keep a steady progression. We are doing well in the championship, but we must not forget the long game of maximizing the learning process, which is also paramount for our efforts. That makes us even more determined to get the most out of this event."
