The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine lands at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend for round 6 of the 2023 season. The state-of-the-art French facility will be home to a crucial event with a close-quarter battle underway for the series lead.
The technical 5.8-kilometer venue welcomes PREMA Racing with Andrea Kimi Antonelli heading the team's effort in the driver championship. The Italian is on a hot streak, having claimed two wins and a second place in the last three races. With only two points to recover for the lead, he is willing to continue his charge.
Brazilian Rafael Camara also secured a podium finish at Mugello and is making good gains in terms of the championship. With P5 and one win to his credit, he has good momentum to carry and on which to work on.
Lorenzo Fluxá is hoping for a rebound on French soil. The Spaniard faced tough luck in the last couple of events and wants to put his experience to fruition on a track where he has good mileage from the previous seasons.
As PREMA has also been fighting back in the teams' standings, motivation is high for a key weekend in southern France.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"For sure we are coming from a solid run, especially in the last couple of rounds, and we hope to continue working in the same direction and improving our form. We are set for a tough weekend both because of the competition and for the torrid weather expected. We have to stay extremely committed to overcome these variables and continue performing at the highest possible level."
