R09 Monza - FIA Formula 3 Race Preview

Coming from a long summer break from the previous round at Spa-Francorchamps, the FIA Formula 3 Championship comes back into action for its 2023 finale at Monza.

One of the most challenging tracks on the calendar, Monza features consistently high speeds, pack racing and multiple tactics that can be adopted. It is also the home track for PREMA and a place that the team visits many times a year for racing and testing.

Paul Aron is currently leading the team's effort with second place in the driver standings. The Estonian has good memories from Monza, having scored a win in FRECA last season. With his maiden F3 win achieved in Austria as well, he's looking to increase his score on a friendly circuit. Zak O'Sullivan is not far away in fourth place, having won four races this year including two feature races at Red Bull Ring and Hungaroring. Standing sixth, Swede Dino Beganovic faced a particularly tough weekend at Spa. However, he also secured one FRECA win at Monza in 2022, so he will be willing to start from that foundation for the weekend.

In terms of tyre choice, Pirelli selected the PZero white soft compound to be used during the event.

René Rosin - Team Principal

"We line up at our home track with the lead in the Team Championship, but Monza is a tricky place, and with three cars per team, consistency is vital. We hope to see our drivers battle at the front and show good potential, but we are aware that we will need a perfect team effort. We expect an intense weekend, as we saw in the past, and our response needs to be an even more focused and clean approach."
