PREMA Racing set for 2023 FIA WEC finale at Bahrain
PREMA Racing will be lining up in a traditional environment this weekend at Bahrain International Circuit as the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship comes to its night-running conclusion with the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain.
The race will start at 14:00 local time on Saturday, November 4th, and will run into the dark, finishing at 22:00. Drivers will face unique challenges and environmental conditions. The sand around the track, which gets transported to the racing line, the light conditions, and heat are expected to play a considerable role, and even rain appeared at the track on Wednesday, although it's not expected to return.
The team lines up in Bahrain coming from a challenging run at Fuji Speedway with the goal of closing the year on a high as the #63 and #9 cars are now 8th and 9th in the points standings respectively.
Driving the #63 car, the trio of Mirko Bortolotti, Daniil Kvyat, and Doriane Pin will be reunited as the Italian was forced to miss Fuji due to a clashing commitment, while the #9 crew will consist of Juan Manuel Correa, Filip Ugran and Bent Viscaal.
Action at Bahrain will start one day earlier compared to usual, with Practice 1 and 2 going underway on Thursday, and qualifying at sunset on Friday.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"We are looking forward to ending this season on a high after the challenges of late, and having fought for the podium here last year, we know we can accomplish that goal. However, this is a multi-faceted event, with tough environmental elements and variables. Once again, execution will be key to translate the potential into results."
