PREMA Racing enters 2023 Formula 4 UAE Trophy Race
Coming from a resounding success at the Macau Grand Prix Formula 4 event, PREMA Racing will be back on track for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as the Formula 4 UAE championship is hosting its traditional non-championship Trophy Race. The team will be fielding a trio of high-potential drivers.
Rashid Al Dhaheri, who recently secured a remarkable podium finish at Macau, is looking to make an impression at his home track. Like his teammates, the 15-year-old Emirati is aiming to kick-start the preparations for the 2024 season. Freddie Slater will also be coming from a positive run at the Guia Circuit, where he was second in the Qualifying Race, while Alex Powell will return after making his first two career starts in the Italian F4 championship. For both racers, the Trophy event will offer a great learning chance in the Formula 1 environment.
The format for the weekend will feature two 28-minute + one lap races, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"Competing together with Formula One is a unique opportunity for our young drivers, while also having the chance to gain laps and experience on a track they will definitely be back to in the future. It is also a good way to put into practice what was learned late this year and get a premium showcase in front of the F1 paddock. We look forward to a positive run to continue or recent form. "
