R02 Melbourne - FIA Formula 3 Race Preview
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is about to go back underway at Albert Park for a highly-anticipated event on Australian soil and for PREMA Racing, it will be an anticipated return. Last year, the team was able to secure victory in the Sprint Race, and with the pace shown in the opening round, the team is looking for a rebound on Melbourne’s street circuit with the trio of Dino Beganovic, Gabriele Minì, and Arvid Lindblad.
Lining up for the second time in Melbourne, both Beganovic and Minì want to start making moves from the beginning. The Swedish racer secured an impressive pole position in Bahrain, and despite the obstacles preventing him from converting it, has pace and confidence. Minì also faced bad luck at Sakhir despite his impressive potential. He will be back in the place that gave him his maiden podium finish in F3.
Having posted a brilliant win in the opening race of the year, Arvid Lindblad established himself as a leading rookie in the series, and on a track that is relatively new for everyone, has the goal to carry the momentum forward.
For the event, tyre supplier Pirelli selected the P Zero Yellow medium rubber.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"We really feel we have something to prove in terms of results at Melbourne, after showing so much promise with all three cars in Bahrain but eventually falling shorter than what we wanted. We rely on a well-sorted driver line-up. Beganovic and Minì already raced here, while Lindblad will try to use the circumstances to his advantage, returning to a street course after winning Macau in F4. We think we have all bases covered this weekend, and we look forward to racing down under!"
