PREMA scores triple points finish in eventful Imola Race
Starting from outside the top 5 of the reverse grid, the PREMA Racing drivers had a hard-fought run in Race 1 of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Imola, which was heavily disrupted by multiple incidents and five safety-car situations.
Dino Beganovic claimed fourth place, fighting hard for every position and even surviving rear-end contact during one of the many restarts that left his car slightly damaged. The Swede made the most in terms of points from a challenging day, using every opportunity.
Gabriele Minì also scored points in P6, improving his starting position but finding himself in tough spots amid traffic. The Italian was still able to join a three-way tie for the championship lead.
Coming from a great qualifying run with P4, Arvid Lindblad gained one spot and a points finish too ahead of a promising Race 2 tomorrow.
#1 - Dino Beganovic
"It was a very positive race and we got some good points for the championship, exactly what we needed after yesterday's qualifying. We gained good experience and data for tomorrow, where the big points are, but we are very happy with today. We need to get a better start but overall, the feeling is good."
#2 - Gabriele Minì
"It was an eventful race with many safety cars, and tyre management was not a big issue. I lost a position at the start, which was very tricky with contact in front. I had to break earlier and got overtaken. Then other drivers made mistakes, and I made a nice pass on the outside of T5. Another contact out front made me lose the spot again, but I eventually regained P6 at the final VSC restart."
#3 - Arvid Lindblad
"It was a difficult race today. It was very eventful, with many safety cars and my first VSC as well. There was a lot to deal with, many restarts, and a lot of fighting. I think I could have done a better job, and I'm not so happy with my race, but I still I scored a decent couple of points and we have a good understanding for tomorrow. We will analyze the data tonight, and I'm looking forward to the Feature Race tomorrow. "
