PREMA Racing starts Summer F3 tour at Barcelona
PREMA Racing will be competing at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend as its FIA Formula 3 Championship is set to go back underway on a well-known circuit as it is a common feature in junior single-seaters and in testing. As a consequence, the pace is quite tight there with close lap times and battling, on race day and on lap times in qualifying.
Coming from his first win of the year in the Feature Race at Monte Carlo, Gabriele Minì is lining up as the series leader. The Italian put up a convincing performance in Monaco to rebound from some unlucky circumstances at Imola and now wants to keep stepping up. Teammates Dino Beganovic and Arvid Lindblad are holding fourth and fifth place in points respectively but have both scored wins and have clear potential to fight on top. Beganovic won in the Feature Race in Australia and then posted multiple points finishes, while Lindblad recently secured fourth place in the Monte Carlo Feature Race. He is an increasingly solid contender for the overall.
With an abrasive surface at hand, Pirelli will bring the white Hard tyres as the choice for the event. Tyre management will be crucial to secure good results and a steady pace.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"Barcelona is always a key round of the championship as it kicks off a series of events on classic Formula 1 venues and it is a staple of testing and racing in many categories. This championship has been really competitive so far and for sure it's going to be even more challenging at this track especially because we're heading towards the half point of the season and creating the momentum can make a difference. We showed we have the potential to be on top with all drivers and we look for another positive weekend."
