R04 Mugello - Italian F4 Championship Race Preview

PREMA Racing set for classic Italian F4 round at Mugello

R04 Mugello - Italian F4 Championship Race Preview

The 2024 Italian Formula 4 Championship will go back underway for round 4 at Mugello, and as the scorching Italian summer rages on, PREMA Racing will once again field its six-driver lineup at the tough Tuscan venue. The track layout is complex and unforgiving, especially for rookies, with a succession of medium and high-speed corners that take time to get mastered.

Freddie Slater has been the dominant force this season with seven wins in nine races and stands at the top of the championship table. The 15-year-old sensation is back to the place where he made his Italian F4 debut looking to continue the positive year. With multiple podium finishes to his credit, Alex Powell is a force to be reckoned with and with P3 in standings, he’s not far from the leading positions.

Tomass Štolcermanis and Rashid Al Dhaheri will be looking for their first overall podium after showing major consistency. The Latvian completed every race so far, claiming seven points finishes, while the Emirati had a positive run at Mugello last year and ended up on the rookie rostrum.

Having previous podium finishes this year, Dion Gowda and Kean Nakamura-Berta also showed that they have the potential to achieve impressive results. Both the Indian and the Japanese-Slovakian will aim to make gains in terms of the championship.

ANGELO ROSIN - Team Manager

"Mugello is a really challenging racertack especially for the least experienced drivers. But that's the reason why it's also such an important place for them to improve and make progress, especially because we will return here for the first round of the Euro4 Championship in August. This year, the event at Mugello will also mark the mid point of the Italian F4 season. After a positive early run we will need to stay focused and keep working to set up good momentum ahead of the final part of the year."
