PREMA Racing set for anticipated FIA F3 finale
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is set for a much-anticipated season finale and lining up at the Italian cathedral of speed that is Monza, PREMA Racing will try to secure the 2024 Driver Championship after wrapping up the Team Championship in Belgium.
It will try to do so at home, at the fastest venue on the calendar, and with all three drivers still in contention. The team has achieved seven wins and four pole positions so far. Still, on an unpredictable track like Monza, where tight chicanes and long straights can change things in a heartbeat, execution will be even more important than usual, to maximize the aspects that are in control among the many variables.
The track will also have an upgraded configuration, with a new layer of tarmac and a widened first chicane that will be new for everyone as the redesign was inaugurated only a few weeks ago. Tyre degradation might thus come into play with the unknown surface and the high temperatures expected.
Gabriele Minì is currently lying second, one point away from the lead, in driver points while rookie Arvid Lindblad, a four-time winner this year, stands fourth in front of Dino Beganovic. All three drivers showed winning potential and are looking forward to continuing their form. In addition, all of them know the track well, so the main ingredients will surely be there.
For the final round of the year, Pirelli will bring three sets of P-Zero Red Soft Tyres for each team. For the event, the series will adopt a group qualifying format to minimize potential congestion in search of a fast lap.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"We are excited to line up at Monza and fight for the Driver Championship after clinching our fifth teams' title in six years last time around. It will be no easy task. We have outstanding competitors and the performance level is extremely close so we worked extra hard to find every possible edge. Having three drivers still in the hunt for the title makes us very proud. We look forward to assisting them to the best of our ability to give them every opportunity."
