PREMA Racing set for Round 2 of Euro 4 Championship
Lining up for the second round of the Euro 4 Championship, PREMA Racing will be aiming to bounce back from a challenging run at Mugello. Its six-driver driver lineup is ready to go at the short and undulating Austrian circuit of Spielberg. Formula 4 has not raced at Red Bull Ring in the past year, so drivers won’t have hands-on racing experience at the venue. However, with solid testing under its belt, the team has good confidence heading into the event.
The team has Freddie Slater as its frontrunner in points with P5 and a podium to his credit. He is trailed by teammate Kean Nakamura-Berta, while Tomass Stolcermanis, Dion Gowda, and Rashid Al Dhaheri are farther back after securing two points finishes in Tuscany, but not far at all from contention. After having a particularly tough run in the European series opener, Alex Powell is the hungriest for a comeback.
Drivers are covered by a small amount of points in the Driver Championship, and the highly-competitive pack is expected to be even tighter at Red Bull Ring, where gaps between drivers are normally minimal. Still, a key variable might come into play. While summer keeps raging in Italy and southern Europe, cold temperatures and chances of rain are expected in Styria making for an even trickier weekend.
ANGELO ROSIN - Team Manager
“It's Round 2 of the Euro 4 Championship and we are back to a racetrack we know well and where we performed quite impressively in the past. The opening round wasn’t easy and to bounce back we will need to be extra sharp on the performance and execution side. This is a track where the pack is especially tight, so small gains or losses make a huge difference, but it’s an important place to make experience.”
