R07 Monza - Italian F4 Championship Race Preview

European F4 season comes to its conclusion at Monza

R07 Monza - Italian F4 Championship Race Preview

The Italian Formula 4 Championship is set for its final round of the year and after a scintillating weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, PREMA Racing is lining up close to home again at Monza. Back at the Spanish venue, Freddie Slater secured an early Driver Championship title, but the British racer is looking to complete the year by breaking the record for the most victories in a season.

There are many drivers who have set sights on those wins though, starting from the strong pack of PREMA teammates. Alex Powell finally broke through to his first Euro 4 win at Monza. He will be back to his Italian hometown to repeat the same feat and battle for the rookie title.

His main competitor is  Kean Nakamura-Berta, who scored one overall win in the Euro 4 finale and came very close to the class lead with two rookie wins in Barcelona. The two are currently standing fifth and sixth in overall points respectively.

Tomass Stolcermanis is aiming for the podium, as he achieved that both in the European series at Monza and in the Italian Championship two rounds ago in France. On the other hand, Rashid Al Dhaheri is making a welcomed return. The Emirati missed the most recent Euro 4 event due to sickness but has now fully recovered and is eager to cap off the year on a high note.

Dion Gowda is looking to get back to a positive trend and has shown a promising pace, although bad luck hampered him earlier at Monza, especially with red flags in qualifying. Last but not least, Oleksandr Bondarev will enter his second career F4 event. The Ukranian will continue to climb his learning curve as he makes his first steps in single-seaters from karting.

With variable weather expected, the action is anticipated to be even more tricky and multi-faceted than usual, with challenges in terms of slipstreaming and traffic management possibly being paired with the wet track.

Angelo Rosin - Team Founder
"Monza is always a particular place to race and this weekend will be tricky under many aspects. There are several variables that we have to consider there, and that will call for even more focus from everyone especially because we have many drivers that can contend for the victory, and an open battle among rookies.  After winning the Driver and Team Championship last time around, we want to end the season with a positive performance across the board."
