PREMA returns to Formula Regional European action at Spa-Francorchamps

R02 Spa-Francorchamps - FRECA Race Preview

The mighty Spa-Francorchamps circuit is home to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine this weekend, and lining up at the Belgian venue, PREMA  is going back on track after a positive experience in the 2025 opener at Misano.

Back in the Italian opener, Freddie Slater secured a double P1 in qualifying and despite being crashed out of Race 1, he maximized his potential with a podium in Race 2 with more to be unlocked. Rashid Al Dhaheri showed speed with strong performance but was also put out of contention by attrition. He will be relying on his prior experience at Spa in F4.

On the other hand, Jack Beeton achieved a double-point finish and made great progress throughout the Misano weekend, and he looks forward to a solid reboot in Belgium. Round 2 will also mark the return to Formula Regional of Doriane Pin, who will drive the #28 car after missing Misano due to the clashing F1 Academy Miami event. The French racer also has notable Spa experience, having won the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in 2022.

The 7.0-km circuit is always one of the most anticipated of the year, especially for those who race it for the first time, and the track is expected to offer them unusually stable and sunny conditions. However, surprises are always in the mix, and on such a difficult circuit, every element in preparation and execution can be key, in addition to the technical and driving aspects.

RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal

"It's good to be back on-track so quickly after a positive season start at Misano that delivered less than was in the cards considering the speed potential that we had. Freddie, Rashid and Jack were all quick and constantly improving in the first round and we are looking forward to having Doriane back with us. Rejoining the pack, especially at Spa-Francorchamps, for sure won't be easy, but we will help and support her the best way we can to make her competitive."
