PREMA kicks off 2025 E4 series at classic French track

R01 Paul Ricard - E4 Championship Race Preview

The PREMA Racing Formula 4 operation is set for some French action this weekend. Coming from the fourth round of the Italian Formula 4 season at Mugello, the team headed to Circuit Paul Ricard for the opening round of the E4 Championship. Formerly known as Euro 4, the series features a three-round calendar kicking off from the state-of-the-art venue.

Returning to the series after securing third place and the rookie title last year, Kean Nakamura-Berta is aiming to continue the momentum he has been experiencing in Italian Formula 4. He will be the only returning driver in the five-car PREMA lineup.

Sebastian Wheldon will try to be up there right from the start as he's the leading competitor for the Japanese-Slovakian in Italian F4. The talented American is aiming to contend right from the beginning.

The team's trio of high-potential rookies will also continue to work and progress to leave their mark in the series and search for overall podiums and rookie achievements. Colombian Salim Hanna, Chinese Zhenrui Chi and Ukrainian Oleksandr Bondarev will be in to maximize their effort and learning, especially on such a highly technical circuit.

Andrea Dupé will not take part in the event as he keeps recovering from the phisical issues that curtailed his Mugello weekend.

Angelo Rosin - Team Founder
"The E4 Championship gives teams and drivers the chance to increase their experience and to have more goals to achieve, so we are happy to get it started. We have been doing well in the Italian Championship, so there is no reason why we cannot perform at the same level here. However, Circuit Paul Ricard is a challenging circuit, and our competitors are always working to try to catch up and break our pace: nobody can be underestimated."
