PREMA scores no points in Red Bull Ring Race 1

R08 Red Bull Ring - FIA Formula 2 Race 1 Report

It has been a tricky race for PREMA Racing at Red Bull Ring as the Austrian venue is home to the eighth round of the FIA Formula 2 season.

Dennis Hauger was able to move from P15 on the grid to the top 10, despite an early-race mishap on the opening lap. The Norwegian rookie showed good pace as he moved his way through the pack and eventually finished in P10.

Starting from the 11th spot, Jehan Daruvala had a tough opening lap and couldn't find good chemistry with his car over the course of the Sprint Race. The Indian finished in the same position, just outside the top-10.

#1 - Dennis Hauger
"I got a decent start, probably I could have committed a bit more in T3, but other than that, it felt like a decent race even if it's not what we wanted, a decent recovery anyway. I'm not sure of what happened at the exit of turn 3 to be fair, I had a car in front, driving half slow, and I wasn't sure if I could overtake it or not going into turn 4, so I lost a bit of time. Otherwise, pretty standard race, just chased the guys in front, and the pace is not looking too bad mid-race, obviously, we'll look at it for tomorrow."

#2 - Jehan Daruvala
"I started in P11 and finished P11. I had a good start but not a great first lap after. I locked up and went off in turn 3 and got a bit wide in turn 4. Then the race was tricky and didn't find a good balance. I was struggling quite a lot. It's hard to overtake and to follow I think it's difficult for everyone. Hopefully, we can be fast and move forward tomorrow."
