R11 Spa-Francorchamps - FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing has top-10 finish in Spa qualifying

R11 Spa-Francorchamps - FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing delivered a P9 finish with Jehan Daruvala and P11 with Dennis Hauger in qualifying for the Belgian round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship at Spa-Francorchamps. Lining up in slightly damp conditions with slick tyres, the Indian racer managed a top-10 position which will mean a front-row start for tomorrow's race 1.

Fellow Red Bull Junior driver Hauger barely missed a similar result after showing good speed potential in the opening run. Later in the session, he could not replicate his earlier pace and was eventually nipped for P10.

The Norwegian will thus start both races from P11. With the Belgian venue providing room for overtaking and recovering, the team will now work to bounce back for the rest of the weekend.

1 - Dennis Hauger
“Hard one to swallow, we had decent pace with set 1 but struggled to make the tires work on the last, and it's disappointing to just end up outside the top 10. We’ll push hard in the races to make it up, and stay positive for the weekend.”

2 - Jehan Daruvala
“Not the easiest day, still a top-10 but definitely not where I want to be in terms of performance. On the bright side, I will start from the front row tomorrow and it's something to look forward to. However, I just want to go fast, fight at the front on qualy and win races on Sunday. Not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed, but we will work hard tonight and I'm confident I can fight at the front tomorrow.”
