R07 Spielberg - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will race on another classic destination this weekend at Spielberg, and at the flowing Austrian venue, PREMA Racing is looking to continue its positive momentum. In the previous round of the series at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Frederik Vesti cruised to win the Sprint Race, while Ollie Bearman took the Feature Race from pole.
The two drivers secured three wins each so far: the 21-year-old Dane is leading the driver championship, while the 18-year-old Brit, a rookie in the series, is catching up fast after making his first steps in the series only a few months ago.
The situation in Spielberg will be tight. With fast lap times and the know-how matured by the teams over the years, the margins are expected to be razor-thin, and maximizing everything will be key to getting good results. In addition, there might also be some weather thrown in the mix to make it even more unpredictable.
For the event, championship supplier Pirelli selected the P Zero Red soft and P Zero Purple supersoft tyres.
